Chemical Solutions prides itself on its dedication to science and serving clients’ needs, but we also believe it’s important that our customers get to better know our team. In the upcoming weeks, we will be publishing a series of blogs introducing you to different team members—read on to learn interesting facts about Brian LaBine, President and CEO of Chemical Solutions.

What are your 2017 goals as President and CEO? 2017 has been all about backup and service. While we’ve been fortunate to experience healthy growth over these past few years, we do not want to lose our focus on maintaining Turnaround Times, Quality of results and Accessibility to our clients.  Our investments this year have all been centered around redundancy/backup systems, to ensure that we maintain our levels of service.

What do you believe have been your greatest accomplishments as a company since acquiring Chemical Solutions in 2014?  While the move to our new facility in late 2015 was a big achievement for the company, the diversification of our customer base would likely be our overall greatest accomplishment.  This has helped us recruit new people and grow the business, all while laying the groundwork for healthy, sustainable growth.

Looking down the road, where do you see the company in five years? 10 years?  We’ll be expanding our offerings within the metals/minerals testing arena, while growing organically within our new space in Harrisburg.

We of course want to grow the business, while maintaining our level of customer service.  And while organic growth will continue, we’ll also look at geographic expansion if it makes sense for servicing our customer base.

Based on the 68 elements on the periodic table that Chemical Solutions tests for, which element would you use to describe yourself? Lead. Just kidding about the lead – perhaps Titanium, because it’s an ‘active’ ingredient which can do ‘good’ things for people in many of the products we test.  This seems much better than being considered an ‘Impurity!’

What advice would you give someone who is just entering your field? Study and work hard, and good things will come to you.  You likely will not know what those things are going to be, but if you keep working hard, chances are that opportunities will present themselves.

What phrase do you use to motivate your team to better serve your customers?  Hmm – if only it were one phrase!  But mainly, that the whole ‘brand’ of Chemical Solutions is to jump through hoops for our customers, and that their individual efforts truly are noted by our customers.
